1955 40 C 4 roll for sale $2,500:
I found a nice 420 and am selling this 40C.
Blade is good, tin is good, and I have the original manual. Runs great. Original air cleaner missing, but there's a good filter directly on the carb. Converted 12 volt w/alternator. I had the carb rebuilt. It has tracks from 1010 w/4 bolt pads, sprockets from 420 (according to Lavoy who has seen photos only).
The two previous owner(s) (and I am the third) replaced gas tank, radiator, hydraulic pump and the original owner had the engine rebuilt. Runs strong, starts great and burns no oil. I use Seafoam, lead additive, and an ounce or two of 2cycle oil in the gas. Starts right up even at +10. (coldest I wanted to be outside)
Extra pair track adjuster assemblies w/ front idlers, one extra sprocket (from a 40C), spare original hydraulic piston, extra set of tracks I think from a 420 are available for extra $600. Cash only, you transport. More photos on Vermont's Craig's List. I"ll try to get some here in a few days.
