450C=6Way Dozer

Post by shinnery » Wed Nov 26, 2014 12:22 am

I wish I could convince myself I would use this if I won the auction, but I am just getting too old.
BigIron dot com has an auction ending Dec. 17, 2014 with a JD 450C 6 Way blade dozer up near Lubbock, Texas. Here is a link (note the link may change before bidding starts) http://www.bigiron.com/cgi-bin/mnlist.cgi?bigiron29/20 . Good Luck

I attended a Ritchie Brothers auction remotely via Internet yesterday (auction was in St. Louis). They had a few larger JD crawlers (850, etc.) that went well above my budget and then a 450B dozer and 350 dozer. They were sold simultaneously as choice bid.

The 450B was an inside blade dozer and looked nice overall but you could tell the track pins and bushings were shot by how far the track adjuster was out and yet track was still loose. The 350 was an outside blade.I thought briefly about bidding on the 450B if the price was low enough but both went for over $7K when you add on the taxes, etc. That was too much for me considering it needed a new undercarriage.
(1) JD Straight 450 crawler dozer with manual outside blade; (2) JD 2010 diesel crawler loaders; (1) JD 2010 diesel dozer with hydraulic 6-way blade; (2) Model 50 backhoe attachments, misc. other construction equipment
