I went to the Great Oregon Steam-Up at Brooks Oregon last weekend. It was fantastic, except that for in the sea of green there wasn't a single JD crawler to be found except a non-running rusting Lindeman on a concrete pad. So...I'm going to do something about that next year
1955 John Deere 40C 4-roller
i went up to the show yesterday and had a great time, found some cool stuff at the swapmeet and saw about 8 crawlers of various makes.
there were 3 deeres, 1 40 and a couple of m models. the rest of the show had hundreds of tractors, steam engines, oil pulls and stationary engins of all makes. there were even 2 wagonloads of pig oilers!
here are some shots from my phone...

Very nice shots.
That MC and McCormick beside it are very nice.
I don't know much history about Bucyrus, but I live about 45min. from a town in PA called Bucyrus where I believe the company was based. I think the factory and stuff has since been bought by CAT.

I'm a member of the Baraboo show and just put in many hours helping getting ready, helping during the show, and clean up this past Monday. Last year we had John Deere as the feature and you would of had my 440 crawler and my 440 wheel tractor to take pics of. As it is the red crawler and scraper as well as the 1010 belong to member Allen Steel who's a local water and sewer contractor. You just barely see my JD 60 Vegetable tractor in the upper left of the picture with the red and green crawlers. Glad you had fun as many people work hard to make the show a success. Drummer
