Question about non JD crawler

Does anyone know if the case 450 crawlers were wet or dry clutches? The machine I am inquiring about is a track loader with a 4 cylinder diesel with torque converter.

I am wondering if the steering clutches are wet or dry. I was running and working great until my uncle got it stuck in a small stream. I was sunk in over the back of the tracks and stuck there for about two weeks.

It starts and runs but doesn't drive at all. Engine runs well and bucket works fine but delivers zero power to the tracks. I am just trying to understand what could have possibly gone wrong....

not positive but i think its a power system where it puts power to the final drives all the time but lessens the power to let them steer.The name of the system slips me but they dont use conventional clutches and brakes,

The more I read I am realizing the finals are basically direct drive and controlled hydraulicly with either HI/LO or Neutral to each final drive.

But that makes me even more confused as to what would cause the machine to stop driving completely due to be being stuck in a creek for a few weeks only over the the tracks no higher.

From what I know, they have a planetary connected to each steering lever and you can shift one track down a gear when you pull back slightly on the steering lever. I think they might be still differential steer or some sort, but can't swear to it.

You might try either the dozer or Case forums on Yesterday's Tractor dot com. There seem to be plenty of people that will help on those two forums. Or if J. DeMaris sees this here I believe he has a Case dozer or two.
