Okay, finally got the new lathe home, what a honey!

Just a little bit of rust, no problem.

Hi,
Well, now. That looks familiar!
Except mine has the motor mounted behind the headstock as it is on a custom-made wooden bench.

Lavoy, now you can really start spending money.........
Buy an Aloris style toolpost for it, you can get a good one for a reasonable price at several places on the net. An AXA is up to 12" and a BXA goes from 12 up to 16" IIRC. The Aloris Catalog has a chart in it that lays out the sizes. A wedge type is better than a piston type but there is a price penalty as the wedge type is more expensive.
I have an Aloris BXA on my Clausing and would not go back to an import. I was given the toolpost and still have the import here. Look it up and see if a BXA will work on your lathe. If it will you can have it. It would need a new tee nut but I could make one for you also if you can not.
By the way.
NICE LATHE

Right now it is torn down into pieces. Everything from the bed down is in for powdercoat, everything else I will hand paint. Headstock bearings were junk, boy are they pricey! Looking at new motor and belts today, should start reassembly next week hopefully.
Been looking at Shar's chucks and backing plates, thinking that is the way I will go. I already have a piston type quick change on the lathe I am using right now, so will keep it. The lathe it is on is not mine, but I bought the tooling.
The lathe is really in amazing shape as far as wear, someone just let it set outside, or at least in a high humidity area for a long time. The chip tray was badly bent up, so ordered a new one from Sears as well as new labels, knobs and such.
When all is said and done, I will be too deep in it, but it won't sell til the estate sale, so who cares I guess. This lathe also came from Ed at Crawler Heaven, a long time friend that has since passed on so it has some sentimental value as well.

Gaining ground, slowly. Motor and pulley system still to go in, waiting on new chip tray, but it is backordered, dang. Need to figure out where to put on/off switch, but slowly running out of things to fix, replace, or assemble.

Nice job on the lathe.
I could use one but, really don't have the space for it.
Again, nice job bringing new life into a useful tool.

Got the lead screw and the rest of the underdrive shafts and belt tightener in yesterday. Waiting on handles for the cross slide, and the chip tray to come in. Motor I got was wrong, so need to pickup a different one, but not a lot left to do.

Very nice rebuild !! As was previous posted, get a quick change tool post and a bunch of holders. I did OK on my small lathe with a set from Grizzly Industrial, good price. I've also used their holders on the big Lathe with a Loris post.

I have a quick change and some holders that are on the other lathe I am using. Will move them over to this one once I have it together and running. Now Sears says the chip tray won't ship for another 2 weeks!
I will get a motor some time next week and get that done, then just hurry up and wait.

Looking good, Lavoy.
I have to take apart my Boyer-Schultz 6-12 surface grinder and move it so while I got it apart I am going to pull down the spindle and clean and lube the bearings.
