Post by dtoots1 » Sat Aug 01, 2015 2:21 pm

have 1212 david brown....diesel getting into the crank oil probably got gallon or more in it.....

do these things have o rings...looks like a backer plate mounted to front of engine so looks like a real job to pull this thing as large gear in front of the backer plate ....which appears as where the leak could be coming in...on the shaft maybe????

any of you knowledgeable folks please

I would assume there has to be a shaft seal on the input shaft. Probably will require pump tear down to replace. I would probably look at any other work that is needed on the pump at the same time.

There is a David Brown tractor club in England, you might want to try their website http://www.dbtc.co.uk/. They may have better information available. I believe that will be a Perkins engine.
