It was 58 degrees F or so today here in Kansas City; by Sunday it is supposed to be more like 15 degrees F  We are supposed to get flurries when the cold squeezes the last bit of moisture out of the air.

I have enough to share. The long term neighbors say this is a short year.
Yesterday I almost could not make it to the main road. The thaw and packed ice on the driveway out nearly stuck our Suby all wheel drive several times.
I used the 450 to do the main clearing of ice and the backhoe to clean it all up.

I have to keep a path clear to the shop. Top priority!

And like two frozen peas in a pod. Two very valuable helpers. I will be putting up a three bay car port here this summer. There is a 20 amp power outlet close by for heaters. I tarp them but it got too late last night.

We usually get more snow in Feb. I guess I am the one hogging it all.

WOW, I guess! We got another shot here a couple days ago, looks like they might be able to groom some trails now, but still on the low side. I am hearing we are in the 17" total for the year range, just pathetic. I don't even have the blower on the tractor, and have not even put the battery back in the 440.

Well hopefully it's just late this year. I know everybody needs their snow packs. Listing to the NOAA radio and records set, it seems that this stuff does happen. Hopefully things will cycle around. Last year was light for us. We also had a 26,000 acres forest fire that made it just 2.5 miles from us. It was a very stressful 5 weeks last year. So I am grateful for the snow we have and are getting. It is currently really dumping and is supposed to all day. Hopefully you guys will catch up some. Except for the flooding. No one needs that.

Very little snow snow in Saskatchewan. Perhaps 5 inches here at best. We are used to much more . Farmers would like a lot more. My sleds are not getting used yet. Great winter for forest work so far. Im in Mexico but next week we will be clearing logs out. -35 at home, left for the right two weeks!

They claim we have more snow last month then all last winter, but still not much. Most of the fields are open, could probably drive a front wheel drive car in most of them.

Hi,

Well, today we're getting a 'wintry mix'. We are 40 miles South of Raleigh, so we seem to be on the rain/snow line. Raleigh is getting snow. Further bulletins as events warrant......

Here in the mountains of lower Pennsylvania we received in the neighborhood of 30 inches in 24 hours! I never seen so much snow so fast, and there was more further south. This weather is amazing and their calling for upper 30's and 40's in the next couple days..... the old Deere got a workout today!!!!

Hi,

While I list my location as Raleigh, I am actually about 40 miles South. We just got all iced up. Raleigh got from 1 to 4 inches from the South side to the North side. Then, it just got deeper as one went North. Everything still pretty much closed down until the temp rises to 40 later today.

All that happened here on our farm is we lost power for a day and a half. Ours just came back on, so I guess I can put the generator back into storage. Half the state was out of power. After the freezing rain built up all th ice, the wind came along.

Tomorrow, I have to run up to the Albany area of NY. My mom is ill. So, it will be a two day drive right through the entire thing. Oh, and it didn't get up that far North so it will literally be a trip through it all.

Stan Disbrow wrote:Hi,

What is this 'snow' you speak of??

60 deg here (58 at the County Airport) and sunny here today.

Gonna get some more rain here tomorrow, but is a nice day for putting my old 420c back together. Had to rebuild the starter. It finally gave out.....

Stan
This snow we speak of only comes to areas where real men live!

That's not real smart men!
