Hi,
So, it is time to till the gourd patch and let it sit a month before doing it again prior to planting. I use a big rototiller on back of the 5103. I till the rows first, then hill using the M so I know exactly where the nicely treated soil is. Then, I till in between just for grass and weed control. That area isn't treated. Gourds vine, so they need the space.
Anyway, got to the end of a row and the M would not pick up the hiller discs. What Now??? Hydraulic failure! But....it moved just a little bit upwards before quitting and bypassing.
The M has the original Qwik Tach drawbar and lift/pull arms. I have a homemade rig that allows it to take 3 pt pins yet still work as it originally did.
They have spring loaded lock pins so one can set them to pull a heavier load without yanking on the pivot bushings. One had slipped into the lock position.
I had forgotten about those.
Duh!
Maybe this should be another one of my Tells in Show n Tell? Oh, well. I put it here with the other wheel tractor threads.
