I have a JD 310A and while tearing into it to replace the hydraulic pressure control valve o-rings I discovered 4 grease fittings on top of the rear axle. One by the outboard bearings and one on either side of the transmission. Any idea what kind of grease and how much I need to put in there?
Thanks
JT

The outboard fittings are for the outer bearing...All they require are a couple of pumps of grease ONCE a year. Just use a good quality grease. Overgreasing can blow the seal out. I'm not sure about the inner fittings. I just looked at an ag tractor and didn't see anything but those outer fittings. It was a bigger tractor tho.

Grease Fittings
The grease fittings near the bottom of the axle case and pointing forward will most likely be used for bleeding the brakes. This is what I have seen on a 410, so a 310 is most likely the same.

Hi,
Maybe if you grease them, they won't be seized up whenever you need to bleed the brakes!
