2010 wheel tractor ....

Post by Lu47Dan » Mon Oct 01, 2018 11:29 am

We are looking at a 2010 wheel tractor, 60's? vintage gasoline. Clutch stuck, maybe a few more problems but all there.
What is the weight of this tractor?
Price is reasonable.

Tractor data site says 5054 lbs. for a gas tractor, 6392 lbs. is given for a ballasted tractor. No weights given for loaders or other attachments.

Thanks, Jim.
Have not seen it yet, brother found it. I can at least get it hauled for reasonable price.
The guy I would have haul it charges by mile and weight now. Used to have a flat fee(+ mileage) for tractors up to 70hp. But now with his new truck it is flat fee + mileage + $100 over 8000#. Forget getting him to haul anything with tracks.
Thanks again.

I bought a wheel tractor this weekend and decided to drive it home rather than go through the hassle of hauling it- of course the auction was only 4 miles from my farm. Unfortunately I learned pretty quickly what was wrong with the tractor by driving it those 4 miles but did get it home before it got too dark

Did that with an Allis Chalmers combine one time. No head on it, supposed to be quick trip to buyers house. Ended up being a 12 hour trip, had to rig a gerrycan up for gas as the main tank was totally polluted. After that there were several other problems. :| Won't do that again.

Hi,

No head? How did it run at all then? Oh. Wait. Not *that* head! :P

Well, I got all of one Drive It Home story. Six miles. Ran without a hitch then, and for the next 10 years, after which I sold it.

Not much of a story for this gang, but that is all I have! ;)

Now the story of the 1950 JD M, which came home on a rollback *and* in the bed of a pickup truck. Now, there is a story! But, already told around here. :)
