I’ve been looking for a 1929-1931 ford model a tudor body to do a rat rod project. With that, I’m constantly looking at the for sale section on Facebook and I came across this post. It says 1929 Ford F-150 regular cab. Now I can’t seem to find any true information where they actually had F-150’s back in 1929, but there was plenty of pickups, and the picture sure doesn’t look like a pickup, but this isn’t the first time I have seen people list vehicles like this with the subject of Ford F-150 in the description. Can anyone shed some light on this?
Any early 1929-30 model a experts out there?

The F series didnt come out till well after that that.Pic is a 28/29 model a 2door. The only thing that makes me wonder on the pic is the radiator cover looks like it was painted not nickle which was the case usually in commercial As. (trucks) That looks like it could be a real project.

Thanks for the reply scampr. The seller tells me it’s a F-150. We’ll see, I may go take a look at it to see how thin the sheet metal is to determine if it’s a good project vehicle or not. It would be titled as a rat rod in PA anyways. It always amazes me that these old models a’s are still out there being that it’s 90 years old...Although there was close to 5 million made!

Notmeu,
The F series name was first used by Ford for their trucks starting in 1948 (F1, F2,,,,F6) The F-150 name wasn't used until 1975. The front wheel on the A in the picture is 1928-1929 wheel. The rear wheel is a mid thirties Ford wheel. A lot of As were converted to juice brakes, away from the original mechanical brake system. The larger wheel hub of the later cars was used to accommodate the different drum. May be that is why there is a mix of wheels.
Check the body to frame and cowl to frame for rust. As can look solid from a distance, but they rot from the frame up - and "up" can be 6"-8". By the look of the right front fender, the tin might be getting pretty thin at this point. Might be a good candidate for a Doodlebug if the running gear is any good. Go slow and have fun if you get it. The seller doesn't sound very knowledgeable....

Thanks for your info Andrew, much appreciated! Here is what I am looking to build. The only items really needed from the A is the body, Everything else is from semi modern vehicles and a lot of custom fabrication, which is right up my alley!
