Issues with Johnnypopper.com message board.
I know this isn't really a technical site but I was wondering if anyone else is having trouble consistently getting into the new board at johnnypopper.com
I know there are several people here that frequent both sites and I think the two compliment each other. I just can't continually get into the new board over there. I've been in it once from my home computer and once from my work computer.. then it redirects me to the old info page about the board being down.
I've changed web browsers, computers, cleared the history, cache, etc. all to no success... anyone else experiencing this?

Jimmy,
I have had no problems, but I jump straight to the message board, I never go in through the main page. I know when they were down and I tried to get in, there was nothing, but if I entered through the main site, then I would get the notification message about being hacked. I think Byron is still ironing out some kinks, did you notice how hard the spammers and pornmeisters hit them until they got the registration figured out?

If I try to go straight to the message board I get an internal server error. The wierd thing is this is happening for me in two different locations (work and home) which is two different ISP's and three different computers.
I dunno.. all I know is it's a lil frustrating that someone would mess up a nice site like that...
I guess I should stick to old iron.. that I understand..

I know.. last night I was able to get in and browse just fine.
I did take and 'ping' the site when I was able to log in...
I come up with an IP address of: 208.67.212.52
I also noticed a thread where Byron was asking and others are having the same issues as me. He said that he'd put in a call for some tech help on it and they were working on it.. as long as I know I'm not the only one.. it sort of makes me feel better.
This morning I can't get into the site and when I pinged it I got this...
64.227.159.195 which is the old server. For what ever reason sometimes it will go to the new server.. but alot of the time.. it goes to the old one which is still corrupted.
Lavoy.. if I go directly to the forum I get an internal server error where if I link off the home page.. I go to the messages.. I dunno.

You might be tangled in a DNS caching problem on your local machine. If you're running XP in particular, try looking more this Microsoft Knowledge Base article and see if it helps you. One thing you could do is substitute the correct IP address for the server name in the URL and access the server without name lookup. Makes it a bit of a pain when you follow the links around the site but would confirm the DNS issue.

Bill-
I may play with it in again this evening.. I just know that Brandon has posted about it and is working on it. Seems like there are issues he's fighting with it and I'm not the only one experiencing it.
Two of the computers are XP though and one is Win2000.
Thanks for the tip though!

I appreciate everyone's tips and advice.. I started to mess with things but decided to let it be for a bit. As of Saturday evening everything has been running fine on every computer I use. (That's three at three different locations).
