Popular Mechanics or Popular Science

Post by mc_mike » Sat Feb 10, 2007 3:48 pm

I don't know if anybody remembers Smokey Stover's comic strip or not but I remember seeing an article about the foomobile and how to build one in either Popular Mechanics or Popular Science. If anyone can help me locate what issue has the article I would appreciate it.

Thanks,
Mike

Found this in a Google search on a messageboard.

"A real Foo Mobile was built by Pete Schlatter from Francesville, Ind.
There was an article about it in the Jun 1978 Issue of Popular Science
page 118. He passed away 4 years ago. I spoke to his wife this morning
and she was very happy to hear that we still remenber the Foo Mobile that her husband built."

This was a 2003 post so Pete has been gone about 8 years now. I checked the popsci.com site to see if you could view past issues but didn't have much luck. Hope this helps.
