Sure wish I had my 420 up and running....

Snowed last night....A LOT. AND a lot more on the way if the weatherman is right. You folks in East of me (South East WA) are next in line.
8" last night, supposed to be 6"+ tonight and after that, up to 12" more by the weekend. It ain't even stopping then
I had to clear snow with a wheel tractor as I din't feel like firing up the D4 yet and my 420 isn't running. I think the D4 is going to get the fire lit by next Sat. I left some good berms along the 1/2 mile drive way. Next push will be the Cat to clear the whole road.
Hope you have a good wood supply and plenty of fuel for the Green machines.

You know I wish you guys would quit hogging all the snow. We had up to 12" predicted for last night and today. We got ZERO inches here, 45 MPH winds with gusts in the 50's and 60's some places, and to top it off, it is 10-15 below right now. Not a fair trade for not getting a foot of snow, the kids are pissed, they were looking forward to a snow day, and I was looking forward to pushing some snow.

We're having heavy flurries with 22 to 36 mph winds and 19 degree temp in Kansas City right now. It was 55 degrees at 5 am this morning- been a crazy winter so far.
(1) JD Straight 450 crawler dozer with manual outside blade; (2) JD 2010 diesel crawler loaders; (1) JD 2010 diesel dozer with hydraulic 6-way blade; (2) Model 50 backhoe attachments, misc. other construction equipment
Snow! we'll gladly send you some Lavoy. It's was raining here this am with freezing rain. Now it's 40 and cloudy, and will get colder tonight. It's comes and goes here, not a typical winter for us. Just in case had another load of logs dropped off for the outside wood furnace, I know it will be warm in side. If only the wife would give me enough money to build the work shop.( ha ha )
Hey Mailtrain-
Where are you upstate? I used to work near Watertown at Fort Drum and could almost guarantee that we would pass through lake effect snow bands going through Pulaski or Adams Center on I-81 from Syracuse this time of year. Pretty rare to get just plain old rain

We have an inch of so of snow right now in KC and are supposed to get upwards of 6 inches tomorrow- I wouldn't mind if some of it went north of us towards you Lavoy!

9" today so far. More forecast for tommorow night and Sat. Again on Tues.-Wens. Looks like the D4 will have the fire lit on Sat
Don't wish for to much Lavoy, you might just get it!!
The kids here have had 2 days off and the wife said most were ready to go back to school (she's the local principal). Have to make them up in June when they'd rather be doing something else.

Heck, I have been wishing for too much just hoping to get some! Kids have not had a weather day yet this year. We started out so well with two good snowfalls, and then nothing over a half inch or so since. 50 MPH winds a few days ago took anything loose and blew it into Minnesota, even started dirt moving so now we have some black snow as well. I give up, planning on going to WY in two weeks for some snowmobiling, at least I hear they have snow there.

Was looking like a good old fashioned winter up till the end of December, then the snow melted off and haven't seen it since.
But I went up to the shop today and it is completely surrounded with ice like a giant rink. So cool, it's like playing bumpercars (a ways back from the building that is!). I had to resist the urge to fire up the pocketdozer and see how well it does donuts.

Speaking of doing donuts with a dozer?!?!?!? Once many years ago we had some melt like that and it froze. Had a big puddle in the middle of the yard. Took a 420 with a 90 loader and street pads out on the ice, put it in 5th, held one clutch and stared spinning. About the time you are going to puke, let off the other clutch and it really gets crazy!
Then we started getting a run down the driveway onto the ice in 5th. Stepped on the brake to lock up the tracks, pulled the reverser into reverse and let the clutch out. You could be going forward 5MPH, and the tracks are going backwards 5MPH, then pull on steering lever and hang on!
