Ca Trip 35PlyPJ and 40JD

Post by Bobmn » Sun Feb 08, 2009 10:03 am

Hi Guys! Well, This last week has been interesting....Drove to Ca. with our dually...stuff to do with the wife's sister house....Like a estate sale of 45yrs of school stuff, shoes etc!! Then to rent out the house. We had bought a 1935 Plymouth before we left. We had planned to rent a trailer one way back. Well then we found a 53 40 JD..3pt 2bottom roll over plow, 3pt disk, frt weights. tractor is perfect. 1800.oo Soooo this is to good a deal to pass on. Looked for a 2 place trailer...used all over. So I ck'd new and found a place in LA to build one..3axle 30ft long. Going to meet them half way today (Sunday) at 4pm cause we DON"T want to drive in LA!! Did that last yr 14 times. Then up to San Fran to load up. Also hauling the Toyota car up there. My bother in law lives up there and he has a buyer. Be there for a week or two. Then the 2500m trip back to Mn. That's the southern route. Denver is only 1800 but not this time of the yr. We are doing this ONE day at a time!! 38 below when we left home...72 and sunny and rain now. Thanks Bobmn[/img]

:) I bought a JD 825 2-16's plow and kby disc a few years ago, but didn't get the tractor (520)! It had been sold! Compared to what I paid, you got the tractor pretty reasonable!

Dave Hello, Well this fellow lives in silion valley....the propety he bought is about 18m from the ocean. He got the place with all the stuff left. My brotherinlaw found out about it just after. When he called to see if we wanted it....well that was a no brainer!! But, finding and getting a trailer was some what hard. We can use this to haul big bales back home. Thanks Bobmn

:) Bob, is your new trailer gooseneck or bumper hitch? I've got a 24' gooseneck that I pull with a 1 ton srw pickup.

Dave: It is a bumper hitch. We would have got a gooseneck.....but we are cleaning out the wife's sister home. And there is some "STUFF" that is going back to Mn. Thae means a topper on the truck! We Do have a set of Texas bumpers on the truck. You can ask Lavoy....He did our 430C tracks and seen the truck. (Thanks again Lavoy!!} I'd post a pic BUT some JERK took our digtial camcorder at the sale!!! I had it hidden.....our friends told us they keep you busy and the other one steals stuff. Well we are from Mn.......thanks Bobmn
