Looking for a project truck

Post by townlineterry » Sat Mar 07, 2009 7:01 am

As if I don't have enough to do. I am looking for a restoration project. Looking for leads on a late 40's dualwheel REO Speedwagon.

Not a show truck, but one in restorable condition. My grandfather used them in his buisness so it's a sentimental thing.

Appreciate any leads, Terry

Hi,

I'll keep my eyes peeled. Lots of odd stuff showing up for sale around here these days. Probably due to the economy.

I know of one REO Speedwagon around, but the farmer still uses it. It's a midships mount pump fire truck and he uses it to haul water around his farm.

That's pretty cool. I wish *I* had a fire truck for hauling water up from the river. All I got is a 94 F150 4wd with a 300 gal tank in the bed. I did mount a pump on the truck, so I could use it for a brush fire truck in a pinch. It's even red! :p

Hi,

Well, I've found a few so far - all overpriced from your POV as they're in *too* good a shape! :p

Spring is in the air here, and I notice a lot more cars and trucks along the roadsides lately. It's just a matter of time. I expect to find one by Summer, which will work out well as then we can get it up your way without having to worry about snow!

later!
