Tractors

Post by 1949JDMC » Tue Jan 04, 2011 8:49 pm

I'd assume that everyone on this site owns a crawler but I want to know what other tractors you all have...

I have a 1938 John Deere Model L
a 1958 Simplicity 101 Landlord
a 1948 International Harvester
a 1952 Fordson Major Diesel
a 1960 Case 222
and a 1991 Case 580K Backhoe

John Deere GP
John Deere D (2) (1 with worm gear steering)
John Deere L and an LA (Running but not fully assembled)
Johnd Deere H
John Deere 320
John Deere 430
John Deere BR and BO
John Deere A
John Deere R
John Deere 3020 Propane
John Deere M (3)
15-30 Mcormick Deering
John Deere 2010 (2)
Case 530 Loader Hoe
Cockshot 35

We would have stuck with crawlers, but there just aren't many green deeres left in Alberta, Canada.

We also have a few non-deere crawlers including Cat 22 (2), TD6 (2), RD4, D47U, Alis M, Case 310,. Everytime i look, my dad has something else in the shed.

All are good runners, but none have been restored.

I have two Ford wheel tractors (early 4000 and a 1952 8N) in addition to my 2010 crawlers at my farm. I also have a number of skid steers and other construction equipment. My neighbors give me a little flak about the Ford tractors because most are Deere tractor owners.

I did tell them that I am a Deere owner because I have a Deere crawler. They didn't believe me at first- they thought it was a CAT because it is yellow, not green. I had to point out the decals and nameplates to prove it to them

Instead of listing tractors, how about some pictures, guys.

The model T is not much to speak of, just a small garden tractor. It is a welded up angle iron with a cut down model T front and rear end axles, a model A tranny and a wisconsin engine mounted on small wheels. I do not have a picture of it. It was built up by my Uncle George (since has passed away).

Image

This is the Model AA cut down as a doodlebug. It was bought as a farm truck in 1943 and used until is was replaced in 1947 by a new Chev truck. It sat in the fencerow for several years until my older brothers reincarnated it into a jalopy deluxe. It runs well and I have put it in may parades. I still have the back frame part incase someone wants to restore it, but it is more unique as it is (that is what parade watchers tell me). I always run it in parades with the hood off so the crowd can see an actual 4 banger engine without a shit-load of emission stuff hanging on it.

Image

This is the Mead Mighty Mouse mini-dozer that is stored at my brother's farm. The driver is my Uncle George (God rest his sole). Don't worry, he is smiling at you now as you are enjoying his toys.

Image

This is the Gibson tractor also from my Uncle George (he was quite a collector). Note how the steering wheel is missing and you use a lever to steer with. Also good parade material. My Uncle George used to work in maintenance at a Cleveland shopping mall. Everyday was Christams at the dumpster. See the white outhouse in the back ground? There is a story to that one also. Next picture.

Image

We bought the farm from my wife's great Aunt and she used this outhouse until about 1980. It is a three-holer, different size hole. Pick one that fits. Note the signs on the outhouse (Womens) and (Mens) on the tree. Just a little of my humor.

Image

This is my brother's dozer from Texas. He visits this JDCrawler site quite often and I had to post his toy. I think it looks more like a 1931 Model A Roadster. I think it is clean, Rich!

Great pictures- the skeet thrower in the lower left corner of the 31 model A pic caught my eye...is it homemade? I have been wanting to build a thrower for a long time and have never got around to it. Great pics.
