No Hydraulic power

Post by jd410 » Sun Sep 04, 2011 5:05 pm

Hi Guys,

Great to see the abundant wealth of knowledge you all provide, I'm glad to be a part of it. Very Happy

Have a hydraulic problem with a JD410 backhoe. All systems, (4in1, bucket lift, hoe and stabilisers) are ultra slow (bucket lift being the worst). Can get all bar the lift and bucket tilt to full speed and power after cycling through full range of movement a few times. Sometimes the lift and tilt resolve themselves, but all lose speed and power after approx 10 minutes. once this occurs can only get 6-8inches of lift in bucket lift and tilt up rams.

Machine recently blew a hyd line which drained the whole system. Filters and oil replaced and strainers where cleaned. Machine operated perfectly for approx 120min after service.

Intial thoughts were low oil (guys who did the flter and oil replacement had overfilled by approx 40litres!! have drained off enough so level is just under max. But still as above.drained the oil via the hyd pump return line to ensure pump still working.

Power steering has never had the above problems.

Any ideas from the brains trust out there.

Well, you said that the pump was pushing oil out but to fully determine if it's truly working correctly you would have to put a gauge on her.How long did she run without oil when the hose burst?

hi tuney443,

Less than 10 secs, oil was spraying everywhere, don't think Iran pump dry.
Since intial post have lost all hyd power except steering. Intially thought destroke solenoid getting stuck.

Power steering is usually a seperate circuit and not on same hydraulics. Check the hydraulic level. You may have pumped it dry putting the oil back in the new system. Or pumped it down enough it needs more.

thanks willyr, I thought the same Oil level was my initial hunch, thats how i discovered the over fill. levels now back within min/max range. could in be a stuck up destroke valve/solenoid. I disconnected the solenoid b4 starting and had no problems starting machine from cold.

have added small weight to loader bucket and just got bucket off ground steering is limited even when moving NOW. tracking hyd lines from all systems indicates IMHO that they are all connected to main hyd pump
