D4H at auction

Post by shinnery » Wed Feb 20, 2013 1:53 am

Spotted this D4H in a PurpleWave dot com auction for next Wed. Thought some might get a good laugh at the sprockets and rails. Never seen that sharp of a sprocket. Here is a link, The sprocket pictures are near the bottom. http://www.purplewave.com/cgi-bin/mnlis ... 227A/C3315

I also noticed they made the video from the side with the tighter chain.

Did you see how the rollers are cutting the pin bosses?

Wow, that must have been a hard 730hrs, lol. I've only run a couple really old Cat machines, always wondered if those hi-tracks were really any better.

I have never seen anything like that before! At least they got their money's worth out of that undercarriage!!!!

Those tracks are gone the inner rollers are cutting badly onto the bushings so It has had some banging going on run don't walk from that old Cat she has been run hard for quite a while after the tracks were to run out [100% worn out]and it is well beyond that It needs a whole new under carriage at least and the torque converter has seen better days as well .Se how it hesitates at just more than an idle I think something more was being covered up there If you need a CAT you don't need this CAT.The 3204 is not the best motor cat got made for them Mitsubishi made them for Cat and the least of there problems was front and rear seals on that motor .Transmission cost the farm to rebuild and was easy to replace but the nice thing about that machine is it isnt mine $160 a ton is all I can say . $16,500!! It doesn't weigh a hundred tons does it? Somebody has a good project on their hands. Maybe they get a special on undercarrage parts. LOL
