New disc mower

Post by whiteclipse16 » Sat Jun 01, 2013 9:46 pm

Finally decided to retire the old NH 477 haybine. We picked up a used, but like new Kuhn GMD700 GII HD.
I'm liking the mower more and more. Pretty easy setup, strong built.

Anybody have any experience with one of these machines. Just looking for any things to watch for or expect.

I got one of those Kuhn GMD700 s a year ago mine has no series number on it so it must be older than yours I bought it from a retiring neighbor farmer and It takes a hell of a tractor to put that mower conditioner to work I can't even begin to keep up with it .I only do about three hundred 5x4 round bales a year but that machine makes the mowing part fast .he hit a rock and put all new drive gears and cutting blades on it before I bought it for 1500 bucks that cost him almost twice that for repairs a year earlier.I find you have too leave it stored flat or it will leak oil into left hydraulic then the oil leaks out the seals on the cutter drive .I just set it down on two skids for the winter and leave it level that way never leave it stored in raised condition if you can .Digitup.
