Deere W Stationary Engine

I have an opportunity to buy one of these engines, never seen one before.

Does anyone have any information on production numbers and serial numbers. Can't seem to find anything on the Internet, I did find a couple for sale and some general comments on them.

Still trying to get myself talked into spending good money on something that does not have tracks or move.

i am sure i you want to you could mount it on some sort of tracked vehicle i seen a big hitnmiss in an old school VW
