have question on allis chalmers if anyone here knows.. have found numbers on the tranny of h17g and maybe seriel number of h863724-8..are no identifying tags or numbers on this thing and only shows 553 hours on the hour meter...it does have generator not alternator on it...is bucket loader 4 cyl diesel and i cannot identify it yet.

any help as they want to scrap this thing....not if i can help it!

Your serial number is stamped into the back side of the cast rear end and could be covered by a ripper or winch if you have one of either on it Allis Chalmers stamped serial numbers in cast main housings till the end of crawler build no serial number plates except for the tractor line in the late sixty's went to the s/n plate .If it is a four cylinder it's a HD7G ? most HD7's were loader's is it ?Can you get me a photo or two of the old beast I keep several Allis HD21B's around most of the time but parts are getting rare for these old Allis crawlers .Digitup.

yup tisa loader and has large weight on back end just under fuel tank...only showing 550 hours on it and tracks etc appear pretty good tho one side is a bit loose as adjuster appears rusted stuck and yes is 4cyl diesel...claims hyd pump problem??? can they be rebuilt readily?...can get for scrap price am guessing wt about 8-9000 lbs...so less than $1000CAN GET IT THKS
