We just got home from out of state. -20 something last night, and the car was kind of stiff at the airport. They just revised the forecast a little bit ago, now talking -35 here tonight with wind chills in the -55 range here, much worse NE into MN. MN called school off statewide for Monday, haven't heard much here, but only been home a couple hours.
I don't think we have seen windchills this bad since they revised the windchill index a while ago. We have been in quite a cold pattern since early Dec, teens at least below many nights, some days. Unusual for us this early. Local NWS meteorologist says he thinks the pattern will continue into Feb or so. Of course along with that, we are supposed to have additional snow, but that has not shown up. Going to be some frozen water line problems if we don't get some more snow for insulation in another month or so.
Mid to upper 20's by end of the week, so 50-60 swing is going to feel really good.

He's right, only made -24 give or take, not -34, so it is warmer.

Northeast doesn't get that cold, but it's pretty wild. Between Saturday morning and Monday morning we went from -15 to 55. Now it is just about back to 0 again. At least it got warm long enough for everybody to un-freeze their water pipes!

Talking 31 here on Friday. If we had gotten just a little colder Monday, it would have been a 60 degree swing in 5 days. Going to be in the 20's for 5 days, or so, that is going to be nice.

I imagine there is enough anti-freeze flowing every night so that is not a problem.
