JD M wheel tractor cultivator

Post by Stan Disbrow » Tue Mar 11, 2014 1:16 pm

Hi,

Just a wild shot in the dark. I figure I will ask here before I go looking elsewhere.

Anyone have a set of mid mount cultivators for the M wheel tractor? Which you do not want and would like to be rid of?

I have a 1950 M and two sets of 2 row cultivators in the weeds from a 430t or a 430w. A few parts can be used on the M, but not many. Completely different mounting and operation between the M and the 430.

They could be either the original toolbar (M10, IIRC) type that mount to the belly bracket, or the later M100 type that mount to the bell housing bolts.

I know of a couple available locally, but they are on machines and I do not want to buy another M to get these for mine. :P

Stan, I have some mid mount M cultivators, but dont recall which style they are. When the snow melts I will look for them if you are interested in coming this far to get a set.

Hi,

Kewl. Yes, I would come over for sure. I plan on a trip up to see Mom once spring shows up. All the snow bumps look alike, as well I remember. :P

Im sure I have a set as well. If you strike out in Vermont let me know you can stop by on way home. We should all be heading to Gathering of the Greens.

Hi,

I picked up a 10a series cultivator unit. Just the center parts, but I have a DIY 3pt conversion on the back which uses the original pull arm setup and a plate with top link ears over where the belt pulley was. I have a 3pt cultivator frame for rear, so am not needing the original back parts for the 10a.

I needed the mounting pieces for the shanks, and wound up with a full two row cultivator, and most of another one, from the 40/420/430 tricycle. I pulled what I needed off the extra, and so have a two-row left over, with two spare frames.

Anyone that wants it, can have it, for coming to get it.
