JD 445

Post by whiteclipse16 » Thu Feb 19, 2015 6:39 pm

I was just watching an episode of " my classic tractor fever" and they had a John Deere 445 on there. When you first Google it the only thing that comes up is a garden tractor. But if you search Argentina with 445 then you'll find the old 445. The really interesting thing is that they all had the 2-53 Detroit, just like the one I saw on tv.
Has anyone seen one of these in person. I figured I'd mention this since its another avenue to look for parts for the 2-53.

Well the 435 was the Ag. Version of the 440I in the states. Wonder what the difference is in a 445 vs. a 435?

Hi,

Ten! :P

IIRC, nothing. Except the four-legged Deere medallion on the nosecone is just a big J D on those....

BTW, I once spent a lot of hours on a 435 haying with that 1000 RPM PTO. Very Noisy. I still can't hear you now.... ;)

I guess after looking at the 435 again they are very similar.

445's look different, mechanically I think they are very similar. I think they were made well into the 60's in Argentina, and were not imported to the US at the time. Just like the 730D high crops were made down there for a few more years into the 60's, but were not exported to the US.
