My new 1010

Post by Montana Guy » Sun Oct 04, 2009 7:33 pm

Hi all, jus thought i would get plugged into the site. I know it will be handy. Here is a pic of my 1965 Crawler/loader. It has a rebuilt motor and new steering clutches. The forest fires were here two years ago and the old owner decided to "rebuild" the hydrolic control valve, even tho nothing was wrong with it. Well, he got a seal or o'ring or something not right, as it leaks. The man has cancer and is dieing, so has not had enough energy to fix it. He showed me what to do, so i got it out and took it to a Hydrolic Cotrol shop to get worked over.
I am really excited to have a good plow for my mile long driveway. I need some dirtwork done here and have 40 dead beetle kill trees to remove. Log on mate !! Earth first ! We'll log the other planets later !!
Smiles, Tob

Yes, that is a neat old girl, don't see many of the loader/blade combos any more.

Thanks for the compliments guys! Lavoy, i look forward to your advice on things with the old gurl. Hopefuly the first hurdle with the control valve will go smoothly? Any input on that Sir? Still not heard back from the Hydrolic contol place yet. Rebuild it or upgrade to modern? The previous owner worked hard to keep things original. Truck, Trailer and Crawler, 4 k. Did i do ok?

If all it is are the seals, no reason to try and retrofit that I can see. Put the new seals in and go.

LOL!

I come from a long line of loggers. Whenever I see a nice stand of trees I see ... lumber.

The wood products run deep in my Scandinavian blood. I even stack log homes, as it was my job for nearly 20 years. Now its all about play'in for profit!
