In the last photo, what are the two long levers, low on the right of the dash, pointing horizontally and to the front?? Look like they have black round knobs on them. I've not seen anything like that before?? What do they do?

I love the offset steering levers though. They put both steering handles in your left hand like a modern bulldozer.Stan Disbrow wrote:Hi,gus wrote:Question,

Yes, the one with the knob on it is the 4-speed gearshift lever. The usual lever for a tractor is straight up, but it would foul the steering levers on a crawler. So, they bent forward and down it to clear.
The later 5-speed uses a shorter lever and they designed in an offset to one steering lever to clear it. Either way, something is going to look odd!
The rods are to the two hydraulic valves for the blade cylinders. The valves are mounted on top of the hyd reservoir and the rods connect them to the control lever.
Other setups have the valves on the fenders, so again they had more than one way to make things work.
later!
