Rebuilt JD 440 ICD pushing dirt again
She is happy again! Her owner is even happier!!!
A few final things like turning the tracks around so grousers lead, clean up, some paint, adjust reverser, replace a few more hoses, etc.
Amazing how much power it has. When I got it, it hard started but ran pretty good.
It will now start on a dime and give nine cents in change, and push a blade full of dirt with no sign of sagging.

The bad part is when my neighbors find out it is operating again, they will have their project list also. LOL
The first thing I tackled was the project I had started before I tore it down for rebuild. I pushed dirt under my shed to level the floors.
The dirt pile had been there for a while.

The bigger problem with neighbors is them wanting to borrow it.

I installed a key switch and it always seems to be out of fuel for some reason when someone wants to "just borrow it for a few minutes."
LOL
I tried being nice and it does not work, so I just say no I do not loan it to anyone for any reason.

Nice machine. We were taught at an early age...if you borrowed a piece of machinery you always took it back full of fuel and better shape than you found it.
Expect nothing less when things come back our way.

440 iron popper,
Thanks for your comments!
I will have someone run the camera and get some pushing video.
It has turned out to be most mechnically pleasing. The 2-53 starts faster than I have ever seen one, and does not smoke unless the governor cuts in under load.
I know this is the way they were when new but everyone I have ever seen was hard to start and smoked some.

I think yours is probably better than new. The N series pistons and injectors really wake them up, especially for starting.
