Looks VERY good.
Is that the same Scarfier as a 831 Loader would use? If it is I have now seen one just need to find one. LOL

Hi,
Wow. I really ought to bring my 420c up there one day and let you re-do her. That's much nicer than what I usually turn out.
BTW, did they always say 'crawler loader' on the loader arms like that when new, or is that something cool you add? I can't recall ever seeing that script before, but then most of these things I've seen hardly have any paint on them at all, much less decals!

lavoy,
Which color yellow did you paint this crawler? It looks like the impliment shade rather than the Industrial shade. Is that corrrect for that model or is it just personal preference?
Is there a particular brand or type of paint that you find works well on these beasts. By that I mean stays on well. I understand that the key to any paint job is proper prep.

1960 440ICD #461094 w/ #63 manual blade Converted to a gas engine two owners ago.
The paint on this one is factory Deere industrial yellow for prior to 1982 or something like that. It has quite a bit of orange in it, the ag yellow is bright yellow, no orange.
I use the Deere, it is the cheapest, sprays well, and seems to stand up well. I have a 430 that is in the shop now that the customer what Martin Seynour paint on, and he told me it is in the $300/gallon range, so we'll see how that goes.
