Old member, new toy

Post by boaterri » Mon Nov 07, 2016 7:47 pm

Hello all:
I have finally succumbed to that dreaded incurable disease..."Yellow Iron Fever". After much time lurking here and occasionally asking questions, some dumb, I finally have taken delivery of an older 450C track loader with a back hoe attachment.

The machine was broken down to major components for servicing and painted prior to reassembly. There are a couple of frozen track chain segments on each side, hopefully they will loosen up with use. The back hoe has some new hoses but is otherwise original.

Yes, I know I should not be wearing sandals around heavy equipment.

Rick

Park the machine in about 3 inches of water with the froze links down for a day or two then run it a few hours and that should help free them up

Running in snow works very well on the tracks but that might be a issue for Fla...lol The water should work well for you.Its amazing how it will help.. good luck with it
