Well some day when I have spare time, I will have one that looks like that.
I can't tell for sure, but looks like your tracks are on backwards?

It is a beautiful crawler! Hope mine looks that good when I'm done. You sure did a great job on your crawler.

I think Lavoy is right; the tracks are on backwards from what I can see.

Good eye, they are indeed on backward. I just could not take the time to pop the pins and reverse them before running it. I hope I did not kill anything by not turning them around so that the grouser strikes first. My logic was that I go in reverse about as much as I do forward, so I figured it could not tear it up. The track reversal is on my list as I get it ready for show.
Believe me, as good as it is, I could not list all of the things, many of them little, that need to be done to get it back to being like I want it. I still have some cylinders to repack, and many little things that just take time to first spot, and then fix or replace.
I did luck out on an NOS battery box and an original rear light. It is a labor of love, I know you guys can all relate.

I wish I had time to start on mine. I have been ratholeing some parts for years, and squirreling away some used stuff I stumbled on. A couple of years ago I managed to find a high serial number gas 440 with the center throttle, big finals, 5 speed dual hyd, and 64 blade. I have a 3PT hitch in a crate waiting with a bunch of other parts to go on it. Now, if I could only work on it, it would look like yours.

Lavoy, As we get along in life, we find that time is most precious. As long as you are doing what you like, it is time well spent. Don't be fooled in to the old thing about "I'll wait until I retire to do that". Look around, there are a number of guys that did not make it to that golden age, or only lived a few years after.
Dad and I talked all the time about having a good restored antique dozer around but I kept putting it off. We lost him 4 years ago, so I decided to get them in his honor. Would have been even more fun if I had not "put it off".

Funny you should say that, just lost my Dad last month. We did however work on a lot of old junk, and coming from a farm, and farming myself for years, I was around him daily for most of my life. I inherited my love of old junk from him. He always would laugh at my brother and I when we drug home another old piece of junk and said at least we would have a good auction sale some day.
