I put over 15000 hours each on these two Deeres they were my main machines for over 12 years .The 550 was new in 1983 and the 490D was new for that photo in 1988 If you look close the ROPS has a flip back roof for a hoe .This dozer was built for a hoe on the assembly line but I never installed one only a the winch was added and it balanced the dozer nice I could get around 4000 hours to a set of tracks as the added weight was easier on things .That winch sure paid for its self .Digitup.
