That's quite a machine! What RPMs does the grinder turn? From all the cages around the operator it looks like there's the possibility of flying debris!

The guard is for saving the cab and windows when crashing through brush .The drum its self is 18 inches diameter and at 1120 RPM on the PTO the drum is doing 4700RPM I am told at this speed the carbide tips have a speed of 77MPH.The original tractor is only 105 HP I modified this 456ci to around 166HP then took that motor out and replaced it with a 265HP version of the same engine now running at 285 HP on the dino with no computer hooked up and the biggest ramps in the fuel pump as possible I get almost as good fuel economy as original motor at lower HP .As the drum turns down forward at this speed the debris fly toward the back when going forward .Several occasions it has spit trees out under the tractor When in reverse you close that front flap and fine grind in the other direction I was the first English speeking Canadian with one just three French speeking and there was no distributor in the States yet .The grinder was made in Italy and they had no English inturpriter yet .So I selftough on operating this unit and tought the first two owners in the States both in northern Texas as well as several owners in Western Canada .These units are relatively safe to operate but one operator has dropped a dear at 40 yards with that flap open .This unit makes me decent money but it will use around 200 gallons per day of fuel and carbide hammers are 4400 bucks a set . We busted the drum off and have made several of our own drums and a way to balance this unit as it works FAE are the grinder manufactures But we sold our drum technology to RWF Bron another manufacturer in Woodstock Ontario .If you want more info go to fae grinders on the internet my unit is a 225 hd.I think they had a photo of mine on at one time .Digitup.
