I always enjoy the pictures on show & tell so I thought I would share these.
My tilt cylinder was in very bad shape. Someone had welded the spanner nut on to keep the end from blowing out. It was leaking fluid at a good rate. All it needed was a $5.00 snap ring and a good straight ram rod.

Looks good. Doesn't it always make you wonder when you find something that someone has obviously tried to fix and you find out that to fix it correctly wasn't that big a job??? I'm sure you'll be much happier with the operation of the machine now.
I just tell myself that 20 years ago people didn't have great resources like Lavoy or dealers with computers that would search parts for them etc. and it was harder to find some things. I know that 's not always the case.. but.. it makes me feel better.

Jimmy,
Thanks for your comments.
Yea, I tell myself that apparently their brains got temporarily taken over by aliens that own hydraulic oil companies. Or, they had more money than they did time and patience.
It burns me up to keep pouring expensive hydraulic fluid in to a machine when there is a way to stop most or all of the leaks.
This is about going to dry up my 64 Bulldozer. I might have to repack on of the angle cylinders, but that is a piece of cake.
