This is the reason the left clutch quit so long ago, the guy replaced the clutch pack but must have used the same pressure plate. The springs were so brittle some of them broke just taking the plate off the assy.
When I took off the floor panels, both brake rods were twisted all out of shape. Add it to the list.
Can the final housings be welded or are they cast? I'm not a true welder, but after looking at the cracks in the right housing, I'm thinking something has to be done.
One more question, does anyone put any sort of RTV sealant around the final bolt pattern to seal out moisture? Thanks.

I hear that! Someone wasted a perfectly good clutch pack doing just that. I had a hell of a time getting the steering clutch driveshaft out of the driven disc. Do you also carry the pilot bearing for the steering driveshaft? Just one more part to add to the shopping list. The "boss" is starting to scrutinize my "stuff" a little more these days. Couldn't have anything to do with the fact the oldest boy just got braces. Hopefully my funding won't be cut before I get the drives back in.
Lavoy - Is there a way to separate the transmission right below the console to gain about 1 1/2" so I can remove the right housing? I really did not want to get into a total dismantling right now. Just curious if others have gotten their housings off without tearing everything down. Thanks.

My 440IC manual says to use a thin layer of some type of sealer (shelac) for the final drive housing mating surfaces. I used a loctite product called gasket eliminator and I believe its number 515.
I also had my inner housing off but I pulled the frame rail to do so. Was not that hard but everything needs to be supported properly so it does not shift.
