Glad to have found this list! I just bought a JD 420C with a loader. Of course my wife thinks I am crazy. But, she new that when she married me. It is actually in really good shape it was completely redone 7 years ago by the PO. He did a really good job. It isn't a restoration though, just a working tractor. All of the sheet metal work is homemade.
As of right now it runs great... But, only if you are going straight forward or backward. I guess the steering clutches are stuck. hopefully I am not going to have to completely replace them and I can just free them up. The thing has been sitting under a carport for the last 2 - 3 years.
Any advice on how to proceed from here. I would welcome any comments you have.
