My girl may need some paint and perhaps a few cosmetic touches, however paint and cosmetics wont make her push dirt any better than she does now!! Hopefully when I get her new house built I can buy her a new dress with matching shoes. (actually new dancing shoes may be sooner than later. Half the pins are about 30% the others are about 50% worn out.)

She has had only a little work done to her --
2 newer sprockets
some Hoses
primary blade valve mount (located on right fender)
all Fluids
Left Final -bearings,seals,axle and bull gear
Right Final bearings and seals
Welding and re-enforcement on the Blade Lift Frame
some new Pad Bolts
Lots of missing Nuts and Bolts
some Electrical re-wiring and battery relocation on left fender
Radiator mounts and Hydraulic Tank Mounts
custom main clutch adjustment rod since the adjuster was welded to the shaft
Upper Idler
6 way Blade plate shims to tighten it up
Front Cross Bar
2 new Steering Handles (JD Crawler.com)
Track frame built up at front idler (both sides)
Track tension seals
Redone custom deluxe seat

Still need to fix
-clutch/brake shaft seal leaks pretty good about 1 pint an hour when running steady
- a couple of hood bolts need to be re-welded to the broken frame brackets large washers just don't hold tight enough.
-track (would like new rails, pins and bushings)
-Sprocket guard and tensioner covers
-Paint

Your crawler looks good.
Is your hydraulic blade standard or a manual blade converted?
Would you post a few pictures from the back of the blade and from the top looking down.
I have a 440IC made in 1960 with a manual blade and would very much like to convert to hydraulic angle and tilt
Thanks

Ed,

What he has in the pictures is a JD No. 64 Power Angle Tilt blade. It was one of the options on the 440.
I am not a designer so I have no idea what you may be in to converting a straight blade to do what this one does.
Let us know what you up with.

Hi,

Unfortunately, neither the 62 (420/430) nor the 63 (440) manual 6-way blade readily convert to PAT. They're designed to have pins and wedges hold them in place, and would wear things very quickly if one tried to use hydraulic cylinders in their place. If one could do so, I'd have done it a long time ago. So, I keep on using a hammer and manually changing it. :(

Nor will the 64 PAT blade fit the 420/430. If it did, I'd have had one on my 420 a long time ago as well! ;)

I have seen 62 and 63 blades converted to hyd tilt, but as Stan said, they were not designed for it.

Lavoy, would you happen to have any pictures of the conversions?

Nope, just in my head, and getting any useful info out of there is pointless.
