Very nice. Did the MCs have a different track frame from the 40s?

The early 40, under serial number 62,263 uses the same track frame as an MC, after that, completely different setup.

You did a nice job on this MC.

What year is it?

Do you know how long JD used this style track pads on the MC? .. Ray

That style pad was used on all MC's, only difference is the late pads are thicker and use a cap screw instead of a carriage bolt.

Thanks Lavoy

I'm still green ( no pun intended ) when it comes to other crawlers.

There have been a few MC's at the shows. A couple of them have had the grouser style pads, so I figured JD switched at some time.

I think that in later years, the flat pads were probably cheaper than the stamped pads, or they got a used set. The other advantage of the later pads is the tracks can be rebushed without removing the pads.

More questions.

Did all of the MC's come with the rear power take-off, or was that an option?

Ive saw one with a 3-point hitch. Was that an option or did someone fit it with a 3-point off a tractor? .. Ray
