Awesome Day in MO to Run the 2010

Post by Tigerhaze » Mon Mar 03, 2008 1:31 pm

Hey guys-

It was a nice day on Saturday here in western MO (approx 70 degrees), so the ground and my 2010 had thawed sufficiently to do some work on the property. It was nice to wear short sleeves and run the crawler all afternoon. I continued my never ending project of working on my driveway and drainage ditches- the pics are of some grading work and pushing down one of the trees in my way. Thought it would be nice to share.

Good grief man, that land is flat and you have dirt!!!!!

I have to hunt for at least an hour to find a place flat enough to check my oil. Everything I do involves rocks. In some places, solid rock. All of it on a slope. Some very steep slopes. Dirt?? If I want dirt it's easiest to haul it in.

It must be nice.......

There's not as much dirt as you would think- I'm on the Osage Plains so if I dig down 3 feet I get out of the organic soil and into clays just above the shale bedrock. There is some vertical relief, but it's measured in hundreds of feet.

It's still a lot more soil and flatter than what you would likely have in the mountains though. ;)

You need some rocks in that driveway. Tell you what, I'll swap you load for load. Let me know which days you'll be coming by to drop off dirt and I'll happily load your truck with rocks for the backhaul
