hey guys
got a 65 1010 gas it pops out of reverse unless i hold my hand against the gear shift, otherwise works great. any ideas, it is a manual tranny

Sounds like a bad bearing or two. Pull the top cover and look at the gears, wiggle on the shafts with a pry bar, that may show you what is bad.

is that an "easy fix" or is that a break in half job if i find the problem through the top case

If it is a bearing, then it is a break it in half, pull both finals, gut it to an empty case fix.
