Greetings from the north.

Post by Northern 1010C » Sun Dec 07, 2008 12:20 pm

Hello

I found this site only about 1/2 years ago but I´ve been visiting here allmost daily eversince. This is my first post as a signed member, so I might have some difficulties posting photos etc. ... I live in Finland and I have liked dozzers as long as I can remember. I bought my first crawler loader in 2001 at the age of 24, now I have 4 1010 crawler loaders (all projects...) and one International BTD 6 crawler loader, plus few tractors.

Trying to post some photos...

This is my pride and joy (suffers from bad steering tough...)

Image[/img]

This is the best mover (suffers mainly from cosmetic things... bucket.)

Image[/img]

Dont they look small?

Image[/img]

Spare parts... (and rare drott 4 in 1 bucket, atleast in Finland it is rare in 1010C)

Hope you liked the photos. I try to post more if this went well...

That first machine looks like a nice one. Put that Drott bucket on her and go have some some. Welcome to the site.

That is what I was thinking! Do you think you can bring that truck from Finland over to Chicago and bring my parts crawler to me?

I just purchased a 430c parts dozer new years eve. I saw it sitting in front of a house moving company on a trip to a buddy's deer lease over the weekend. The owner told me that it did not roll easily, but said that he would take care of the loading on my trailer. I made the hour long trip wondering what he had in mind. Once I arrived he had me back up to the 430c while he went to get the "tractor". He came around the corner with a big truck with a crane similar to the one at the start of this thread, chained off to the blade and picked it completely off the ground nose straight up and set it back down perfectly on my gooseneck. That was the absolute coolest way to load a dead crawler! The unload wasn't so easy, but my 440ic moved it. I just wish I had thought to bring along my camera to share the image of the 50 year old dozer hanging with the tracks completely off the ground.

Well well... it seems like the truck is causing more fuss than the crawlers... :D

Ok the truck is quite impressive, the crane is 80 tnm Effer.

And now some pictures of flying crawler loader (dont say anything about the lifting points... )

Lavoy, other than sitting for 25+ years, the stuck motor, water in the trans, and worn out undercarriage with the pins and bushings rusted until they won't move. It would be a good restoration project with enough money, but the other 430c I have is my pride and joy which deserves a complete restoration. I waited over 10 years for that particular one. You know the saying "Some day when I make my millions" I'll be able to complete all my projects (crawlers and tractors), until then...

Lavoy, I'll make you a deal; I'll trade you my parts crawler for you restoring my fully functional early 430c! :D

Hell of a deal, but might have to pass. I am so far behind now, you probably couldn't wait that long.
