Another MC in the snow

Post by Lavoy » Tue Jan 13, 2009 12:02 pm

Finally got a new camera so now can post pics again. It is hard to tell in the pic, but the cutting edge is about head high.
Discerning crawler collectors will of course notice the extremely rare low pile, jute back winter front the kids got for me on the grille!

Hold on to that cold front, they are rare. I've only ever seen one of them before, that was at an auction. You would never believe what it went for. :) I beleive the rarity has to do with the material they are made from, if you leave it on out in the elements they end up rotting. Over the years this has led to a depletion of supply of this non-current collectible item.

The elastomerpolymerwhatever mounting straps don't weather too well either!

The part I didn't tell you is the first time I had it on the pile, when I got off the seat, it overcentered and took off on it's own. To make matters worse, the wife and the oldest witnessed the whole thing from the window. And no before someone says it, this is not a statement about just how big of a counterweight was sitting on the seat.
