It used to be green but my father had it painted yellow. Now that im restoring it to working and a little bit of show cond. Im not sure if I want to go with green or yellow. After the pics were taken I pressure washed it and the green monster below started to show up. Either way it has to be painted. Maybe I should take a poll and see how many of you are for or against it.
What do ya say GREEN or YELLOW??

Alright 2 votes green.
0 yellow.
I was thinking of going with yellow just for something different. And my father had it painted that color. And it doesnt look too bad either.
But I would have to explain at shows why its not green-if they new it was suppost to be green. Not thats it going to be in mint cond. so I dont have to worry about trying to win any awards. And if I do go with green-I have heard there are 2 colors of john deere green. An older darker and a newer lighter color. So I dont know.IF this is the worst thing I have to worry about my life aint that bad.

hi,
Yes, I vote Green as well, just for originality. Or, do I??
Hmmmm. I wouldn't take points off for it being yellow. Lots of them were yellow to begin with, anyway.
Besides, who am I to talk? I have an 'M' painted up like a 420 with the yellow stripe, and I even used the *new* style JD green and yellow paint, so it looks just like the 4500 parked next to it, except the yellow hood stripe is a lot wider.
Why'd I paint the poor little 'M' that way? Well, after the rough time it had from the owner just prior to me, it's a lot less original 'M' than it used to be. But, it's in one piece, and runs, which beats the way it came home: Half of it on a rollback and the other half in a pickup truck. So, it's happy just to *have* paint on it again, never mind the color! :p
I happen to like the 420-style paint scheme, so that's how it wound up painted. I used the newer paint because that's what was readily available at the moment I was moved to start painting.
So, the bottom line is: Paint it yellow, so it'll look like it always did! At least, to you. Never mind about the folks at some show you haven't been to yet.
So, In the end, I have to vote yellow.....
