There was an in depth discussion about this particular disease on here quite a while back. The general consensus is that the disease is incurable, but treatable as long as the addiction is fed. The only way to end the disease is when the wife kills you for bringing home yet another dose of treatment.

LMAO... I convinced her that this would be a nice little vacation for us to get away for the weekend. I don't suppose I can use that excuse again any more this year. Might need suggestions.

Hi,

Well, the only cure I know if is when your wife gets mad enough at you to drive the crawler and then parks it on top of you!

Oh, and she has to take the laptop out of your reach or you'll still buy more even pinned to the ground like that!

:P

later!

I made a deal with my wife to support my crawler disease...

For every tractor I have, she buys an Alpace, as much as I like crawlers, I don't like having Alpacas at the house, it makes me think twice about bringing home another project.

I have passed up a couple of potential deals in the past. As it stands now, she has 5 alpacas and I have 4 tractors (2 420C, 440IC, JD 1070 wheel tractor). I'm able to use the leverage to scout new prospects.

I know it's not a cure, but it helps me from falling off the wagon...

Lol....I wanted to keep it dry and safe from flying rocks.. Thanks for noticing, you are the first to comment on it. Not to mention $19,000.00 to replace it. :)

What would that PTO be used for with out a 3pt hitch? It has 2 hydraulic levers. I assume that one moves the blade up and down and the other operates the PTO? The tag on this dozer frame is worn off.

PTO is used for way too many things to list, PTO generator would be one.
The second lever is for different attachments or towed hyd lift implements. PTO is transmmission driven, nothing to do with the hyd.

The "PTO" list is indeed long, but another one is a tag along brush hog using hydraulics for the depth control.

I didn't see any other hoses going to the back of the machine like on the loader machine. The only thing I see is the PTO shaft sticking out. I did notice that there is a pump engagement lever on the left side of the machine up near the radiator on the shaft. Has anyone seen that before and what would its purpose be?

The primary function is for reduced drag in cold weather starting.

That makes since....Does it engage very well when the motor is running? Just seems like you might get a clunk if you try to engage it while the thing is spinning. I did put all of the injectors back in today hooked the battery up and it cranked over just fine. I'm gonna put the pump back on next week to see if I can get it to fire. Is there any tricks to setting the timing on the pump.? I havnt gotten that far in the manual yet.
