We traveled a couple weekends ago to Bristol, TN area to pick up our JD 440C
What we are looking to use it for is some light tree clearing around our 30 acres in Caswell, NC and my 3.5 acres (future homesite!)
It was quite the adventure winding out way up the few miles of 421, and then the small creekside road and eventual gravel road to the barn where it has been stored the last few years.
The horses and cows came by to visit us as we trying to diagnose a starting issue (mixture of carb being too rich, fouling out plugs, plus a bad plug, plus flooding the carb PLUS a wire on the coil being spliced in and the splice only connecting at random!!)
Nearly 3 hours later it was fired up, and driven around to the trailer and we snuck back out to I-81 and then home!!
Dad (he and I share name, I am Junior), has since ordered a carb rebuild kit on ebay and will be putting this all back together and looking nice!!
Although not truly a "restoration" since this is a working vehicle for us, it will end up getting "prettier" and more reliable for sure!!
Here are some pictures (assuming this works!!)

I meant no harm, I get them confused at times.
Looks like a great crawler.
I am in final process of rebuilding mine.

I wonder how "close" they are, if many of the parts are similar or the same? (That answer is probably here on the site, will look around more)
