You can see looking down the cylinder two areas were damaged from the outside inward. The "top" dent way down in is the dent shown. The "bottom" ding was a very small dent but still caused distortion of the tube.

This was the outrigger cylinder on my 93A as I purchased it. I knew it was leaking and thought it was just bad seals. I was wrong. Now instead of a packing kit I need a new cylinder.
The moral of the story is be careful of your cylinders.[/url]

Just get a new tube built for the ram I just got two rebuilt for a 310J hoe on the clam bucket I should have took photos of that unit as the hoe has 900 hours on it and it actually mushroomed the housing and bypased the seals .The steel was streched a 1/4inchall the way around so much that the paint cracked and flaked off .Find a good hydraulic shop and get them to build a tube for you they will have the seal pack avalible as well for the rest of it.I know it is easyier to say than do but take it easy on your stabliser rams they get rocks bounced off them regularly and bucket teath can leave dints as well .Deere are off the wall in the hydraulic ram$ department .Digitup.

New tube prices
We were just looking at getting a new barrel made for one of our hoe boom cylinders. It is a 4" cylinder and were quoted a price of $150/foot for the material. That was cost with no mark up and no machining and welding. Very supprised at how expenseive the material is.
Hard to find a good 9550 hoe for wrecking, if we don't find one then we will be going the machine shop route. Going to JD is out of the question as they will be very pricy.
Best to look for a qood used one first. Good luck.
