I worked on a machine that crawls but a bit bigger than my 440! I tought you guys might like it. Pictures of a brand new Bucyrus Mining Rope shovel and also a new Cat 797F.
The shovel is powered by electricity on 7200V and the 797F has a V20 diesel engine, 4000 HP. When a truck like this climb a hill, loaded, what a sound! This is on the assembly pads of the mine located near Fermont, Qc at Mont Wright installations. The shovel can Load a 400 Tons haul truck with 4 passes of iron ore. Payload 80-90 Tons per bucket.

Nice Pics- bigger than my "new 420c"
Good to see- I spent my career on these machines (about to retire after 40 years) I had design responsibility for much of the 495 series shovels particularly the electrics.
Now I have a lowly 420c ( great machine) which is younger than me an weighs about the same as one crawler pad on the 495!!
