Well, old "popper" is starting to look like a crawler again. Finals on.

Sprockets on and some other iron and assorted parts...PROGRESS!!!!

My help, 7 mo old Lab.... interested in everything that happens. Even more so if you're down at his level

To keep the thread shorter so you don't have to wait on loading pictures, I may add a couple more parts to this. The details and maybe one on the planned 3 pt build. This might be it for a few days...some work needs to be done to keep eating too.

Hey Gus,
Figured I'd post this question in this part of your rebuild thread.
I'm about to put my steering clutch stuff together and am curious as to how you get the brake rods up through their respective hole in the housing. It seems as though you will have to bend the rod.
Hopefully you or someone knows the trick or the part I'm missing.
Thanks
Ben

If you take the nipple out of the housing, it will just make it. I don't think I bent them at all (maybe enough flex to just make it??). It was tight.

Thanks gus. That's what I was afraid of. One of the nipples is in pretty bad shape and I think if I try to remove it, it won't be reusable.
Guess I'll have to bend the rod slightly or look at how to make a new nipple.
Thanks again

In one of the photos there was a nipple and a new rubber boot shown sitting on the back of the tranny. The nipple is on the lower front of the clutch housing and it is where the brake rod goes through to the pedal. The boot goes on it to keep dirt out of the housing.

The photos are in part II
