Iron popper, Lavoy will be able to tell you for sure but I'd say it could be either carb adjustment or valve adjustment.
On some of the quads I've worked on that was one of the first signs that the valves were getting out of adjustment was backfiring on decel.
I would think that's it's more in the carb adjustment area first. Your high end is probably set a little rich.

Thanks for the advices Ben. Carb will definitely be cleaned and rebuilt next spring. I noticed it wasn't very clean inside... I'll go through valve adjustment again. It might be off a bit.

Did you work a bit lately with yours?

I would lean towards carb, but could be timing or advance issue.

It looks good. I'll put that "new" head on as soon as I have some spare time to spend on the crawler. Pretty busy lately...

Sorry for picture quatily. I tought i was shaking but i discovered that all pictures taken with the ipad since they went with ios7 were not good as they use to be... It has been a downgrade since i installed it. Anyway it is better than a drawing! :D
