Saved from China

Post by JD430C » Thu Aug 02, 2012 8:30 pm

Scrap yard was getting ready to send this to China when I rescued it this morning. They dont usually sell stuff once it hits the lot, but the guy at the yard said it was too nice to put in a container. He said the guy drove it off the trailer  . Cant believe the guy thought it was scrap.

Nice Save!
Just read on FoxNews that Orleans county, north of you, now has a half dozen sheriffs cruisers to put in a container for China. Farmer flattened them for messing with his "funny tobacco" farm.

Paid 1,000 for it. Going to find a battery tonight and get it to run to see what I have to do to it.

Hi Pop pop,

Nope not married, wouldnt have anything fun if I was :D . I knew a little history on it which is why I jumped at it. Friend of mine was supposed to do some work on it 2 years ago, just ran out of time. Had really bad crank case compression. Would blow the oil fill cap right out. Got it torn down today, good size chunk missing out of no 2 piston. I have most of the parts to fix it, just need a gasket set. Hopefully will have it together by the end of the week.

Sure don't look like that oil ring would hold much compression. Looks like you found the source of the blowby all right.
